Beyblade: Metal Masters, known as Metal Fight Beyblade: Choujou Kessen! Big Bang Bladers (メタルファイト ベイブレード 頂上決戦!ビッグバン・ブレーダーズ, Metaru Faito Beiburēdo Chōjō Kessen! Biggu Ban Burēdāzu) in Japan and Metal Beyblade 2: Big Bang Bladers (메탈 베이블레이드2 빅뱅 블레이더즈) in South Korea, is the fourth installment in the Beyblade: Metal saga video game series for the Nintendo DS. This video game adapts the characters and Beyblades from the TV series, Beyblade: Metal Masters. It was released on December 2, 2010 in Japan and was later released on April 21st 2011 in South Korea and came with the exclusive Nightmare Rex SW145SD. It was also released on November 15, 2011 in United States, and came in five different versions; four of them included with a different Beyblade. The Beyblades were Nightmare Rex SW145SD, Bakushin Susanow 90WF, Vulcan Horuseus 145D, and Ultimate Gravity Destroyer GB145S Stamina Ver.

The game takes place after the "Beyblade World Championship" tournament that occurred in the anime and follows a new tournament of the same name where each Blader in the game receives a letter from a mysterious person named Agito to enter, in order to determine the best Blader at a place called "Dyna Cemetery". Players select a Blader to battle as and fight in four rounds with two matches each to win the tournament.

Gameplay[]

The gameplay can host up to two players in which characters from the "Beyblade: Metal Masters" franchise deploy their Beys and use a variety of attacks and special abilities to knock out their opponent. This is the second game (after Top Blade V) in the franchise history to adopt the fighting game format (while first as a main game), placing competing Beyblades on a 2D plane where they are allowed to move left and right, as well as other movements such as jumping and moving between the background and foreground using side-stepping (where as in Top Blade V, it is in 2D top-down perspective). Basic operations such as attack, guard, jump, and throw, as well as face and special moves can be performed with simple button operations. The mode is equipped with "Arcade Mode" where you select three characters to advance a bay battle and "Battle Mode" where you challenge a battle with a customized bay. Each time you clear the arcade mode, you can use more characters, and there are more than 30 playable characters! In addition, the battle mode has a variety of ways to play, such as "communication play" with friends, giving You can play "Mission" to clear the problems that have been given, and "Survival" to beat all characters.

The game features a special attack gauge, which fills as the player lands attacks and can be used to perform their Bey's special attack known as "Special Moves".

This entry of the Beyblade video games has a similar format. Players duke it out while Beyblading on the Nintendo DS. It features over 30 characters to play as, 37 characters to battle, and 2-player versus mode via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Players can utilize Special Moves from the anime in-game via voice commands as well as having the ability to enter codes found on Hasbro Beyblades that will allow players to use its parts in the game.[1]
